This periscope video of the IAAF presser early this morning is a perfect example of how Periscope should be used in our sport. It also completely befuddles me that, if the IAAF wants the sport to be larger, then, why do they not embrace video highlights that sites like ours use, and in return,we promote their events and sponsors.
I am confident that those changes will come. Dentsu’s job has been to merely sell for the IAAF and protect it’s clients. I understand that. I believe though, that if NBC and Eurosport can see how social media promotes their broadcast options, we might look at exciting options for track fans on seeing more and more high quality programming.
