US INDOOR FRIDAY (FEB 6)
ALBUQUERQUE: World leading 200 m races highlighted the first day of New Mexico Classic. Aaron Ernest 20.66 and Cierra White was also fast in women category with 22.98. Briton Steve Lewis won the pole vault with 571 clearance ahead of Victor Weirich 566 PB and national record holder Brad Walker 561 (his highest indoors since 2012). Shaquille Walker won the 600 m in fast 1:17.32 over Jarrin Solomon of Trinidad 1:17.80 and Charles Jones 1:17.99. Ricky Robertson cleared 224 in the high jump.
BLACKSBURG: Junior sprinter Christian Coleman (will be 19 in March) improved to 6.58 when winning the 60 m at Doc Hale Elite meet. Behind him Darrell Wesh 6.60 and World junior champion 2014 Trentavis Friday 6.63. Vincent Wyatt won the hurdles in 7.79 and Cameron Brown (20) improved to 23.38 in the weight throw. Gabon´s record holder Rudy Zang Milama won the women 60 m in 7.40 (7.35 in heats).
JOPLIN: 200 m Olympian from London Maurice Mitchell won the 60 m at the Team Challenge meet with 6.69.
LINCOLN: Cody Rush improved to good 46.32 in the 400 m during first day of Sevigne Invitational.
SOUTH BEND: European Champion Tiffany Porter started her season at Meyo Invitational with 7.99 over 60 m hurdles. Her sister Cindy Ofili won the other race in 8.11. Greggmar Swift got new Barbados record 7.59 in men hurdles. John Hester won the 600 m in 1:18.11. Also to note Chesna Sykes 7.30 in women 60 m.
NEW YORK: European CC medalist Kate Avery won the mile at Metropolitan Championships with 4:42.85.

HAMILTON (NZL, Feb 7): Home favourite Stuart Farquhar provided a rousing climax to the Porritt Classic meet by launching the spear out to his longest throw since 2012 with an excellent 82.75m to secure a World Championships B standard qualification mark. There was more home joy as Hamilton-based Camille Buscomb opened her season in style to clinch a fourth successive women’s 1500m victory at this meet clocking 4:16.70. Second Rosa Flanagan (4:21.83), competing approximately four hours after setting her under-19 and under-20 national record in the women’s steeplechase 9:48.39.
JYVASKYLA (FIN, Feb 7): Finnish hurdles record holder Nooralotta Neziri confirmed her top shape at the international meet here. She equaled her national record in second race of the evening in 7.99. Second Ukrainian Hanna Plotitsyna 8.05. In first race Neziri 8.03 and Plotitsyna 8.04 PB. Olesya Povh from Ukraine won the 60 m in fast 7.20 over best Finnish sprinter currently Hana-Mari Latvala 7.36 (she won the 200 m in 23.42). Russian Angelina Zhuk-Krasnova topped the pole vault 450. Jonathan Astrand won the men 200 m with 21.16.
