adidas adizero Boston Boost 5 Named Best Renovation in Running Network, LLC 2014 Fall Shoe Review
SAN JOSE, CA – After a thorough review process, Running Network , LLC selected the adidas adizero Boston Boost 5 as the Best Shoe Renovation in its 2014 RN Fall Shoe Review.
“The Running Network shoe reviews have, since 1998, provided the consumer with a great series of options for finding the shoe that best fits their needs. From the tiniest of brands to the global leaders, Cregg Weinmann works hard to find you a shoe that makes sense for your feet,” noted Larry Eder, publishing director of Fortius Media Group, LLC.
Twice a year Fortius Media Group reviewers put the best running shoes available to the test. After being matched to shoes based on foot shape, motion, and footstrike, wear testers run 100 miles in the shoes during the test process. Testers report initial impressions of the shoes and then evaluate the shoes throughout the process based on seven key performance characteristics. All evaluations are put into a software system developed by Cregg Weinmann, Fortius Media Group’s RN footwear reviewer, to produce a winner in each category.
“For the RN Fall Review, testers piled on hundreds of marathon training miles to put the shoes through their paces. This rigorous testing provides the critical feedback that validates the strengths of shoes from the various brands. The small differences between shoes are carefully compared within a matrix of features, price, and performance to determine the category winners,” said Weinmann. “Runners need to recognize that the general categorization of the shoes is only a starting point for them, and their needs should be their top consideration. The parity between brands has never been as close as it is now, meaning it’s more important than ever to find the shoes that fit and function best for you.”
“adidas’ adizero Boston Boost 5 marks the debut of Boost foam in this Performance running mainstay. The upper keeps its snug, racer-like fit. The heel is anchored by stiff mesh in the rearfoot, while the vamp offers breathability with open minimesh. Soft synthetic suede offers support and shape to the toe. The midsole takes a big step forward in cushioning with Boost foam framed by EVA. With low-profile geometry and a racy feel, long racing and tempo runs are its forte. The outersole employs the proven thin and durable Continental rubber compound. The addition of Boost foam, in a thoughtful execution, and the unchanged solid philosophy of the shoe earned the adizero Boston Boost 5 top honors as the RN Best Shoe Renovation”, to quote the review from RN Footwear editor Cregg Weinmann.
“The more I wear Boost, the more I like the light weight and comfortable cushion. They’re snug in the toe box, pretty fast feeling. They rate very high, in my opinion,” said one wear tester about the adidas adizero Boston Boost 5.
