In the team Europe Ignisious Gaisah will replace in long jump the Olympic winner and European champion Greg Rutherford. Team captains will be French pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie and British long distance runner Jo Pavey.
Captains of Asia-Pacific Team are Tajikistan´s hammer thrower Dilshod Nazarov and shot put queen from New Zealand Valerie Adams.
In African team will be four Moroccan athletes, all women. Steeple runner Salima El Ouali, young high jump talent Rhizlane Siba, pole vaulter Nisrine Dinar and discus thrower Amina El Mouden. All four are looking to attack their personal bests at the event, informs MAP.
Mutaz Essa Barshim arrived to Marrakech on Thursday evening. His excellent jump of 243 in Brussels made headlines and on twitter and facebook different photomontages are shown to illustrate how high he jumped actually. In one he is over a soccer goal which is 244 cm high.
