Flynn Sports Management announced today that two of their new young talents, Marielle Hall and Trevor Dunbar, had signed agreements with Nike Athletics.
Flynn Sports is pleased to announce new agreements with Nike for two of the top NCAA distance athletes in the class of 2014, Marielle Hall and Trevor Dunbar:
Marielle Hall is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, hailing from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Marielle is the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Champion at 5,000 meters, with a personal best of 15:12.79 over the distance. In a 3,000 meter race in Cork, Ireland, which was Marielle’s first race as a professional, Ms. Hall was victorious over the distance.
Of her new contract with Nike, Marielle had this to say: ” I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunity, with the support of Nike, to pursue my passion as a professional athlete in the track and field community. To work with a company that supports some of the best athletes in the world is a privilege that I value and will not take for granted. With the guidance of Flynn sports management, Nike, family and friends, I am energized to pursue goals that I have previously only imagined.”
Trevor Dunbar, a University of Oregon senior and native of Alaska, was one of the key’s to his teams’ recent victory at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships, with his performance in both the 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter distances. Trevor also began his first European season as a professional athlete with two new personal best performances. Trevor ran the mile in 3:57.19 and the 3,000 meters in 7:45.09, the first race in Dublin and the second race in Cork.
Of his new sponsorship from Nike, Trevor Dunbar had this to say: “I am grateful, proud and excited to announce that I will be partnering with Nike to begin my career as a professional runner. I will continue to live in Eugene, and train under the guidance of Andy Powell. I am thankful for everyone who has supported me and look forward to continued improvement in my new profession.”
Sponsorship, in this day and age, is a challenge for many talented athletes in our sport.
