LONDON (GBR): Olympic winner Tiki Gelana declared she is in the best shape of her life ahead of the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon. But the 26-year-old Ethiopian insisted today the incident from last year has only made her more determined to bounce back this year and prove she remains one of the world’s best over 26.2 miles. „The incident last year hurt me, it hurt my pride as well as physically,” she said. „But I’ve got over it, and I’m OK now. It has given me a lot of motivation to win this time, to show that I am still a good competitor. I need to do it. I’ve prepared well for this year’s London Marathon and I’m in good shape. I’m stronger than ever and ready to win. My training has been very good. I’m in better shape than last year or even before the Olympics. I’m prepared to run under 2:20 if I need to,” she added. „Of course, it depends what happens, but I’ll try to get my PB. We’ll see.”
