A. Kiprop heads the Bowerman mile
EUGENE (USA): The Bowerman mile field at the 40th Prefontaine Classic on May 31 (IAAF Diamond League) will feature 4 sub 3:50 performers, the current World champion, World Indoor champion and defending champion. Headling the top class field is three time winner Asbel Kiprop of Kenya and his country-mate Silas Kiplagat. Also running World Indoor champion Ayanleh Soulieman with in-shape Ethiopian Aman Wote. Ethiopia’s Mekonnen Gebremedhin, Bethwel Birgen, Collins Cheboi, Mohamed Moustaoui, James Magut and Johan Cronje complete the strong African contingent. Challenging them will be Americans Matthew Centrowitz and Will Leer, while Norwegian Henrik Ingebrigtsen is Europe’s hope.
