Kim Conley captured the hearts of running geekdom when she ran down Julia Lucas in the 2012 Olympic Trials 5,000 meter final. This January, Kim ran 4:24.5 for the mlle, the first time she had trained for the mile. As the assistant coach at U.C. Davis under her former head coach Drew Wartenburg, who she credits with her focus and her desire to see what she can do. This interview was done in the New Balance Press Conference, on Friday, February 7, 2014. We thank Kim Conley for her patience and Mary Lawton for her kind assistance as always in all things New Balance.
