New York, New York (December 31, 2013)-Breathe Easy, a new Dry Salt Therapy Spa opens its first locations on Jan. 1st at the Yoga Sanctuary in Mamaroneck, NY and Better Health in Manhattan. The new Salt Therapy Spa is the only location in Westchester and Manhattan and will offer residents a natural alternative known to relieve an array of health concerns ranging from respiratory problems to skin conditions. Dry Salt Therapy, also known as Halo-Therapy, is a holistic approach that serves as an alternative way to relieve the symptoms of respiratory and skin ailments. It also improves the appearance of one’s skin. The Breathe Easy Salt Spas simulate the effects of actual salt caves that have been used to improve health and well-being for centuries, but now in an accessible, spa-like atmosphere. Gary Patrick, Breathe Easy’s Founder and CEO, was inspired to launch his own Salt Therapy rooms after experiencing health benefits first-hand during his travels in Europe, as Skechers SVP Global Advertising Director. In addition, Patrick’s research revealed that hospitals in Europe used salt rooms to treat their patients. He was compelled to continue this experience upon his return to New York. However, Patrick learned there were no authentic salt rooms in NYC or the surrounding areas. Shortly after returning to the U.S. he began developing plans to launch Dry Salt Therapy Spas to bring the health benefits to the NY metro area. “Halo-Therapy, or Dry Salt Therapy as it’s more commonly known, has numerous wellness benefits. We want to provide a holistic, drug-free, no side-effects, natural therapy option to people suffering from numerous skin and lung conditions. It may prove beneficial to a huge number of people,” says Gary Patrick, Founder and CEO of Breathe Easy. “Salt therapy treatments are known to be anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and naturally remove toxins. The salt rooms are even more sterile than an operating room. Salt Therapy is an added benefit to an overall health and wellness regime.” Entering Breathe Easy, guests will find the slight salt in the air is surprisingly subtle…like the salt inhaled from a trip to the beach. In the treatment rooms, guests relax in zero gravity lounge chairs for a 45-minute session of pure relaxation. Layers of Pink Himalayan salt cover the floor, while the warm glow from the salt slabs on the walls emit naturally occurring negative ions-a benefit that is widelyknown to reduce stress and fatigue and promote overall well-being. Micron-sized salt particles, that are barely visible to the eye, are then diffused into the air by a halogenerator for guests to inhale the benefits. The particles absorb bacteria in the air passages, dry mucous to relieve congestion and help fight infection, help eliminate allergens, and improve immune system function. It has also been known to decrease snoring and ease sleep apnea, and relieve colds / flu symptoms. For those in a time crunch, Breathe Easy also offers individual Salt Beds and Salt Booths for a private, more intensive 15-minute session. Breathe Easy is located at the Yoga Sanctuary, 951 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY, and at Better Health, 825 7th Ave., Manhattan, NY. Additional locations are set to roll out in Westchester Country in Dobbs Ferry at exit 15 on the Saw Mill Pkwy and at the Oasis Spa at 1 Park Ave. in Manhattan at the end of January.
