EATON THINKS 400 M HURDLES
EUGENE (USA): World record holder, Olympic and World champion decathlete, Ashton Eaton will focus on the 400m hurdles outdoor in 2014, according to his coach Harry Marra, reports runnerspace.com. While he will focus on developing his competency in all 10 decathlon events he will give primary focus to the 400m hurdles, a move which his coach hopes will help to improve his 400m and 1500m performance in a decathlon. Another reason for the change is to give Eaton a mental break from the daily toil of decathlon training before he prepares to defend his world title in 2015. Eaton will most probably not compete in a decathlon in 2014. Moscow silver medallist, Brianne Theisen-Eaton of Canada, who is also coached by Marra, will continue to train for the heptathlon in preparation for the Commonwealth Games. Seeing Eaton´s bests 13.35 at 110 m hurdles and 45.68 in the 400 m something special could happen at the 400 m hurdles. His first trainings with 13 steps rhythm were very promising.
