One of the most creative events in our sport is the CityGames concept. The idea, quite simply, is to put a track meet in the center of a major city. I witnessed the CityGames in NewCastle, UK last September and was quite impressed.
Plans are underway to bring the successful CityGames concept to London next summer.
Nova International – the organiser of this Saturday’s Great North CityGames on Tyneside and the CityGames in Manchester in May – is in talks to stage one of its ground-breaking street athletics events in the British capital at three separate venues simultaneously in 2014.
