TOP MARKS: BOLT AND DEFAR
OSLO (NOR, Jun 13): Despite the chilly weather and swirling winds, the ExxonMobil Bislett Games lived to the expectations. Meseret Defar offered first highlight in the 5000 m and Usain Bolt closed the event with new meet record and world lead in the 200 m. Kipruto, Schwanitz, Hejnova, Ibarguen remained unbeaten this season.
200 m: Bolt despite losing the runner in front of him (Martina fs) delivered not only the first sub 20 of the year, but also new meet record 19.79 (+1.7) and that in sub 15 degrees of Celsius.
400 m: In LA trained Masrahi won for Saudia Arabia in 45.33, favorite Santos fourth.
Dream Mile: Souleiman of Djibouti improved on his 4th place at Prefontaine and won in 3:50.53 (3:34.33 split) ahead of Kenyans Chepseba and Magut, fourth Turkish Ozbilen EL 3:52.30.
Steeple: Kemboi tried but no chance today 8:07.00 to Kipruto 8:04.48. He was alone in second half of the race.
110mH(non-DL): Nossmy of Sweden and Belgian Deghelt in close race, both 13.54, but +2.3.
DT: Kanter wins in his season best 65.52, Malachowski three fouls due to back problems.
JT: Vesely with second round 85.96 wins and continues in footsteps of his coach Zelezny, Pitkamaki came close in 3rd round 84.74.
Women
100 m: Lalova beat Ahoure in EL 11.04 (+1.2) to 11.05 and third previous EL holder Ryemyen 11.07.
800 m: Europeans prevailed over Africans here. Poistogova 1:59.39 and Lupu1:59.59 were top two.
5000 m: Defar has the shape and left the rest of the field in excellent world lead 14:26.90 behind her (12th fastest time ever, best since 2011). 11th Dutch Kuijken improved to EL and PB
100mH: Top four under 13 seconds in this European affair, Tiffany Porter got it in 12.76 (+1.4).
400mH: Hejnova again improved to 53.60 her season best and this time needed to fight from behind but succesfully made it. PSD in lane 2 showed her abilities 54.03 as second.
HJ: Shkolina started as only one as high as 190 and confirmed she is in great competition shape as only one cleared 197 and did two attempts at 201. Behind her rest of this great field suffering from cold and wind (including Chicherova and Vlasic).
PV: Spiegelburg won after clearing 465 in jump-off with Kyriakopoulou of Greece (they ended the tie at 460). Murer no-heighted at 450.
LJ: Proctor ruled with top mark, 689 +1.5 in first round and promised first seven meters soon.
TJ: Saladukha was never leading as Ibarguen offered three jumps enough to win, the best 14.81 in 5th round.
SP: Solo for Schwanitz, 20.10, when she will meet Adams?
National events: 400 m European champion Moa Hjelmer improved in the 200 m to 23.19 (+1.1), British sprinter Anyika Onuora debuted in the 400 m with good 52.11.

KINGSTON (JAM): Trackalerts informs that Jamaica’s track and field governing body has announced that defending champions will be preferred over Diamond League winners as wild card entries for the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Athletics. The JAAA’s decision will see Yohan Blake getting the nod over Usain Bolt in the men’s 100m and Bolt over Nickel Ashmeade in the men’s 200m. There are other events where wild cards will be granted. These are the women’s 200m with defending champion, Veronica Campbell-Brown, the women’s 100m with Diamond League winner, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and the women’s 400m hurdles with Diamond League winner, Kaliese Spencer.
KYIV (UKR): Executive committee of Ukrainian athletics federation gave permission to triple jump London Olympic 4th placer Hanna Knyazeva to represent Israel at major athletics events from the next year. In November 2012 Knyazeva was married to Israeli decathlete Anatoliy Minenko and obtained Israeli citizenship on May 12, 2013.
KYIV (UKR): Triple jump European U23 champion Sheryf El-Sheryf applied to Ukrainian athletics federation (FLAU) asking to give him permission to represent Turkey at major athletics events. Sheryf also gave all documents confirmed his current Turkish citizenship. FLAU’s executive committee made decision to permit El-Sheryf represent Turkey from next year only if Turkish athletics federation will recover expenditure spending for immediate athlete’s preparation.
REHLINGEN (GER): German long jumper Bianca Kappler gave birth to a daughter Lara Emily. Her first daughter Jolina was born in 2006.
KINGSTON (JAM): Jamaican 400 m runner Dominique Blake has been banned for six years, commencing June 13, 2013. Blake, who admitted the doping charges and explained she didn’t intentionally used the substance, was tested positive for Methylhexanamine, at last year’s national trials. She was sixth in the women’s 400m final, and despite traveling with the team to London, did not make the final 4×4 team.

HEROUVILLE (FRA, Jun 13): At International meet here Cubans clocked sub 50 at 400 m hurdles, Omar Cisneros 49.77 and Yasmani Copello 49.89. Chinese Xiwe Wenjun won the hurdles in 13.54 (-2.3) ahead of Russian Konstantin Sh
abanov 13.63. Roscoe Engel of South Africa got the 100 m in 10.45 (-1.0). Dmitriy Zhelyabin of Russia cleared 555 in pole vault ahead of world medalist Lazaro Borges 535. Mihain Donisan from Romania cleared 218 in the high jump. On the women side Natalya Pogrebnyak from Ukraine won the 100 m in 11.51 (+0.4), Bahraini Genzebe Shumi the 1500 m 4:14.05 and Cristina Sandu from Romania the long jump 648 (+4.1).
LEFCOSIA (CYP, Jun 12): During the first day of the Cypriot National Championships Greek KonstadÃnos DouvalÃdis clocked 13.45 (+1.8) competing as guest in the 110m hurdles. Milan Trajkovic was Cypriot champion with 13.83.
REYKJAVIK (ISL, Jun 12): Anita Hinriksdottir (17) clocked her season best in the women 800 m in 2:03.42.
OSTERODE (GER, Jun 12): Ralf Bartels got here his first years 20+ shot put with 20.01 m.
