Justin Gatlin came out in third, as Asafa Powell had great start. Justin Gatlin caught Asafa Powell and ran away, winning in 9.83, an Olympic semi final record. Churandy Martina ran 9.91, a new Netherlands record for second. Asafa Powell, the man with most 100 meters under 10 seconds (78-80), was third in 9.94.
In second semi final, Usain Bolt played with field, running 9.87, but jogging last 20 meters, Ryan Bailey took second in 9.96, and Richard Thompson was third in 10.02.
Tyson Gay got his best start in long time, Yohan Blake went by Tyson at 50m, won in 9.85. Tyson Gay was second in 9.90, and Adam Gemili, the GBR sensation, was third in 10.06.
