Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Fans will be treated to a glimpse of the
future of USA Track & Field as the best high school standouts and the most
promising college freshmen face off at one of America’s premier venues. The
meet will be held at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex on the campus
of Indiana University, host of five Big Ten Championships and the 1997 NCAA
Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
This meet will serve as a qualifier for this year’s IAAF World Junior
Championships. Top performers will be part of the American team that will
compete in Barcelona, Spain from July 10th to July 15th.

The Sport Committee Chair may adjust the standards, where necessary, forty-five
days prior to the competition, based on received entries at that time.
Therefore, early submission of an entry close to the standards is advised.

must be a 2012 USATF member to enter the Championships. If you do not have a
2012 membership, please
complete a membership application first. You must also be a U.S. citizen
to be eligible to represent the U.S. in all levels of international competition
and meet the eligibility requirements and qualifying standards. (Coach, if the athlede does not have passports,
they should begin the process now to make sure that you have it by the event –
no passport, no trip)

Qualifying
standards
- Athletes must be at least 14
years old on the day of competition but not turn 20 years old during 2012.
All entries must be
accompanied by a copy of a legal document (passport or birth certificate)
in order to verify date of birth and citizenship. If you have a
valid passport at the time of entry, please use a copy of the information
page of your passport as verification of citizenship and birth date. These
copies will not be returned. You must FAX the copy of your passport or
birth certificate, with your membership number, event, and championships
name (“USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships”)
written in it to USATF National Office at 317-261-0514 no later than June
1st, 2012. - Athletes may enter an event(s) even if they have not yet met the
qualifying standard for that event(s).
However, athletes will not be permitted to compete unless they have: - A 2012 USATF membership
- Completed the entry process
- Met the entry standard by the
June 10, 2012 qualifying deadline - Completed the declaration
process - Proof of qualifying performance, if requested, must be submitted
to USATF no later than Monday, June 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. EDT. Any
submittal received after this date will not be accepted. Please contact stats@usatf.org for
verification procedures. - All athletes must be 2012
members of USATF in good standing. USATF memberships may be purchased online, through your local Association
Office, or by calling the USATF National Office at 317-713-4665. - Athletes must be bona fide
members of a 2012 USATF club in order to represent a club. An athlete’s
current club affiliation can be viewed in his/her membership profile and as part of the online entry process. Athletes
wishing to change club affiliations can make such a request through their local Association (note that this request must be made by the
athlete–see Regulation 4 in the USATF Governance Manual). All club affiliations must be finalized by close
of declarations on Tuesday, June 12th. No club changes
will be accepted after this date for the Junior Championships. - In addition to a club
affiliation, athletes are able to represent one corporate sponsor. This
corporate sponsor must be a registered USATF Corporate Member and be part
of the athlete’s membership profile. Corporate Membership applications can
be obtained by sending an e-mail to membership@usatf.org. All sponsor affiliations must be finalized by
close of declarations. No sponsor changes will be accepted after this date
for the Junior Championships. - Athletes wishing to represent a
branch of the Armed Forces of the United States must be registered with
the Membership Committee of their local USATF Association.
Status
To check the status of your entry, including declarations, visit the Status of
Entries page (this page updates hourly). Athletes missing required documents
(see below) or who need to provide information about their qualifying mark(s)
will be listed on the status of entry page as “info needed” until
such documents/information are received.

Fee
entry fee for the Championships is $25 per athlete. Late entries incur an
additional $50 late fee charge per athlete (Total late entry=$75.00). All fees
are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Online entries must be paid for by credit card (“Visa, the only card
accepted by USATF”) or electronic funds transfer (“electronic
check”).

To enter online, you will be required to provide your 2012 USATF

morning, and then go to the site and click on the list of entrants. Make
sure that your athlete is on that list in the correct event(s), and make sure
that their affiliation is correct. If you are expecting the athlete
to do this, you might want to go in and check that it has been done.

Process
Once properly entered, all athletes must complete the declaration process
during the designated time. This process confirms your intention to compete in
the Championships.
Online is the only method of declaration. No other form of
declaration will be accepted.
Each athlete or his representative must declare whether that
athlete will or will not compete during the designated time.
Athletes not declaring by the declaration
deadline will be scratched.
To declare online, you will be required to provide your 2012
USATF membership number and password (click here to retrieve

The IU residence halls are providing housing for the USA Junior Outdoor Track
& Field Championships at a rate of $29.40 per night for students and a rate
of $31.36 per night for adults. The residence halls are within walking
distance (¼ mi.) of the IU Track & Field Complex. The Star of America
Shuttle drops off and picks up at McNutt residence hall and the Indianapolis
International Airport. (
Rooms are air conditioned, single or double occupancy, with bathrooms down the
hall. Linens including two sheets, two towels, a pillow and pillowcase
will be provided. If you need a blanket, ask for one at the center
desk. Check in is at the center desk in the building in the middle of the
