Since 1998, the RunningNetwork has been providing Shoe Reviews to its readers, in both print and on the web. The team consists of Cregg Weinmann, Footwear & Apparel Reviewer, Marg Sumner, proofreader, Kristen Cerer, design & layout and Christine Johnson, RN Project Manager & Editor. This release announces the shoes that received the top honors for Spring 2012.
As RN always says, let the reviews be the beginning of your search for that perfect shoe. RN always suggest that you then head to your local running specialty store to see what they think, as they are on the front lines, day in and day out.

Running Network LLC Reveals Top Honors in Spring Shoe Review
FORT ATKINSON, WISCONSIN – Narrowing down the long list of running shoes available to consumers, the Running Network LLC spring shoe review gives runners and walkers of all levels the knowledge they need to begin the search for their perfect shoe.
“The Running Network LLC is excited to name, what our talented team believes to be, the best running performance footwear of spring 2012,” noted Larry Eder, the president of Running Network LLC. “Over 900,000 print and digital readers plus an additional 3.5 million web readers will use this review as a starting point on their journey to find the perfect running shoe for them. Any shoe that wins its category has done an outstanding job to earn the title of best shoe.”
This spring the Running Network LLC has once again put the 20 best running shoes on the market to the test. Each shoe was carefully matched to the foot shape, motion and footstrike of hundreds of wear testers who ran 100 miles in the shoes. Individual testers evaluated the shoes throughout the testing process on seven key performance characteristics. Each tester’s evaluations were put into a software system developed by Cregg Weinmann, the Running Network LLC footwear and apparel review editor, to decide a winner in each category.
Earning top honors for spring 2012 in their respective categories are the Nike Lunar Eclipse 2 for best motion stabilizing shoe, adidas Supernova Glide 4 for best neutral shoe, Brooks Pure Cadence for best new shoe, Mizuno Wave Elixir 7 for best performance shoe and tying for best renovations are the Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 and Scott MK4.
“There are considerable similarities in the running footwear industry and consumers need to be aware that there are shoes from many brands that could work for them. We reviewed many fine shoes that should be considered because they fit and perform differently on different runners, so trying several is the only way to find the best shoe for you,” said Weinmann.
