While we, of course, prefer the SPIKES cover (UK & USA), there are others who might prefer this upcoming cover of OUTSIDE magazine. OUTSIDE is one of our favorite magazines, period. Innovative and a tech leader of the pack. RBR remembers OUTSIDE when it was Mariah magazine (1976-1977).
In that magazine, in 1977, the late great John Jerome, of on the best sports journalists ever, wrote the line, ” by putting 25 five minutes miles together, Frank Shorter invented running…”. Jerome got it, one of the first non-running journalists to comprehend the magnitude of Shorter’s masterful victory in Munich (and his silver medal in Montreal, always under rated) and it’s effect on the sport of running.
LoLo’s most recent sponsor Red Bull gets some promotion in this video. Note that Red Bull has had some trouble getting approval at major athletics events where the Reb Bull head scarf, bandana (whatever) has not been received as well. RBR interviewed LoLo Jones, courtesy of the Shoe Addicts, at the recent ING New York City marathon and found her relaxed and a great story teller. We wish her luck in the upcoming US indoor season….
