Lehmkuhle will be among a deep field of international competitors at
the 2011 Virgin London Marathon on Sunday, April 17. The elite men’s race
starts at 9:45 a.m. (elite women at 9:00 a.m.) followed by some 50,000
runners.

wanted to get on a course that gave me the best chance to run in the 2:10 to
2:11 range and something that would more closely simulate the flatish course
that the 2012 U.S. Trials will be run on,” Lehmkuhle told Down the Backstretch
earlier this month.

Gabrielson finished sixth in 30:08 (winning time was 29:26) at the SPAR
Great Ireland Run 10k in Dublin on April 10. Carlson was a last minute
addition to the field and was able to join Gabrielson at the starting line on
Sunday. Almost 8,000 runners finished the race which is known as the
country’s premier 10k run and is the site of the Irish 10k National
Championships.

competitiveness of post-collegiate American distance running and to develop
