The track in the picture is Stadio Olympico in Rome, Italy. The Golden Gala Meeting, to be held, Thursday, May 26 in Rome, Italy, will have a double matching of Allyson Felix and Sanya Richards-Ross, in both the 400 meters and 200 meters. A nice double on any day, but two great races within races! This is the kind of thing that the Samsung Diamond League is all about! I can not wait to see what unfolds at the adidas GP New York and Nike Pre Classic!

FELIX VS. RICHARDS-ROSS TWICE
ROME (ITA): It was already announced that Allyson Felix and Sanya
Richards-Ross will clash in Rome
on May 26 at the first European stop of the Samsung Diamond League series. But
actually the huge Stadio Olimpico will see them running against each other
twice. Not only at 400 m
but also in the 200 m.
While in the 400 m
the head-to-head is in favor of the specialist Richards-Ross 4:1, in the 200 m their last two races in
2009 (Carson and Thessaloniki) saw Felix winning. But in Greece at the
last IAAF World Athletics final it was close as both were timed with 22.29.
Last time Richards-Ross beat Felix at 200 m was at Stockholm meet in 2006. First they will clash
at the 400 m
and then at the 200 m
at the Italian premier one day meeting.
