Tyson Gay has not raced since his 19.41 run over the 200 meter straight. Our sources tell us that Tyson is having some tightness issues, and do not be surprised if he does not race until the beginning of August. Hopefully, the big three will be ready for some serious racing in August. I would love to see a healthy Tyson Gay, Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell race this summer. We shall see….
Biggest revelation at the adidas Grand Prix was Jessica Ennis. Very down to earth, with a great support team, including her boyfriend and coach, Jessica spent much of her time touring the Big Apple. We will be interviewing both Jessica’s and Hyleas Fountains coaches over the next couple of weeks!
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the USATF Outdoor Champs, in Des Moines, Iowa, June 23-27, 2010.

GAY NOT ENTERED TO US CHAMPS
NEW YORK (USA): US 100 m record holder Tyson Gay
is still not ready to compete. He is also not entered (currently) for the US
Championships which will be held end of June in Des Moines. Being guest at
adidas New York Grand Prix meet he said for IAAF about the current false start
rule. „Yes, I did say to the media that I think the new false start
rule doesn’t make any sense. I understand that people say it is better for
television but I don’t think the people who made this decision understand
what sprinters go through when they get into those blocks. If it is not
changed, it will hurt our sport. What happened in Rome with Shelly Ann Fraser
is not good for anyone and I promise you, this won’t be the last time this
happens to a star athlete. Sprinters are human…blocks are different,
sounds are different and starters are different at some meets. It is crazy to
think that sprinters can deal with these changes and never make even
a minor mistake,” said Gay.
