Molly Huddle (Saucony) overcame a late race cramping issue to win the 10,000 meters
at the Payton Jordan Invitational. Running in the Kim McDonald 10,000 meters, Huddle
built a lead, by midway, that surpassed 80 meters. Holding on, after a cramping issue
late in the race, Huddle won this early season race in a good time.
Continuing to improve is Desiree Davila of the Brooks Hanson Distance Project, who ran
32:06.85, a huge personal best. Davila has been on a roll, as she ran a fine 8:52 for
3,000 meters indoors at the World Indoor Champs, in Doha, Qatar.
Amy Hastings of Brooks was third in 32:28.77. The Kim McDonald invitational 10,000m
has been presented at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invite since 2001, in honor of the late
Kim McDonald, an influential agent and coach in the sport of athletics.
