The Running Event has returned to Austin, Texas! Great weather, super participation, and four days of conferences and expo time shows that running is one of the few bright stars in our economy. Here is what I saw….
A vibrant collection of running and trail footwear, plus apparel, accessories and new sports timing products are strong reasons why the 400 plus running store personal have great product to choose from. Make no doubt about it, this is a competitive environment. Of the 32 footwear brands, close to two dozen have tiny parts of this business, but they can provide options for stores who are looking for a) something different and b) a unique offering in their local environments. New product from footwear were getting some buzz. Some new timing products also had some strong responses.
In walking the floor with RN footwear and apparel editor, Cregg Weinmann, we saw some new product, we also saw new approaches to issues using new versions of old product, and we saw a few truly unique approaches.
I hope to see you on the floor!
