The men’s 10,000 meters were the races of the day. However, I was totally impressed with Chris Hill, the University of Georgia javelin thrower, who does a) wins his first national championship, b) throws 275-02, sixth farthest EVER by US thrower, and 270-2, which would have also won-both are his two best throws EVER.
Chris is on the pinball team anytime. He popped those throws with a headwind, and his throws were just, well, beautiful. One inch off, and Chris would have had a 240 foot throw. Hill is on, so what ever you are doing, do not change a thing!

My other biggest impressions were that Shannon Rowbury is going to be very tough to beat at the 1,500 meters. On the men’s side, Will Lear, Chris Lukesic, Leonel Manzano looked to be very tough, with Gareth Heath, the Stanford youngster, to spoil.
