Farah´s last indoor race
BIRMINGHAM (GBR): Mo Farah has said tomorrow’s 5000 m at the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix could be the last indoor race of his career, informs organisers. “I think this will be my last track race indoors. For me it all started in London 2012, my life has changed and so many things have changed and for me it wouldn’t be fair to continue on. I’d like to be able to hang my spikes up after London 2017 and then go on to the roads,” he said at the pre-event press conference. Aries Merritt also said he is aiming to run in the 7.5-range in the 60m hurdles but he is “in heavy training at the moment so I have to take that into account.”
RunBlogRun opines: Mo Farah is coming to the end of a part of his running career. He will be racing 5000 meters indoors at the Muller Indoor GP Birmingham in a dozen hours. This will be, most likely, his last indoor race as he moves to the roads. After London World Champs, we may not see Mo on track races after that! More to come on the race today!
