This was Shelby Houlihan’s second race since she was able to race again, after a 4 year ban. In her first race, Shelby ran a 3,000 meters in 8:31.56 (her PB from 4 years ago was 8:26.66).
Houlihan 4:20.30 mile WL
BOSTON (USA, Feb 8): Shelby Houlihan continues in her triumphant come-back, winning the mile in 4:20.30 PB/WL at the Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational. She also clocked a short-track PB in the 1500m split (4:03.40), ahead of Kenya’s Dorcas Ewoi (4:23.69 / 4:05.83, short-track PBs).

Abel Teffra topped the men’s race with a PB of 3:52.44 PB (3:37.70 short-track PB) over New Zealand’s Sam Tanner (3:53.30) and a big PB for third Kristian Hansen of Denmark (3:53.80, short-track NR). Fast 3000m race for Allie Buchalski (8:43.83), winning from Kayley Delay (8:44.01), and in the men’s race for Liam Murphy (7:35.47) ahead of Marco Langon (7:36.87) and Belgium’s John Heymans (7:37.05, short-track NR), overall personal bests for all. Canada’s Lauren Gale clocked 51.79 in the 400m, and 800m wins for Valery Tobias (2:00.73, short-track PB), and Isaiah Harris (1:46.53).
