FloSports Bolsters FloTrack Staff In Lead Up to Wanda Diamond League Debut
Former Track Athletes and Content Creators with Brooks, ESPN, and MileSplit To Help Drive FloTrack Content Offerings
Austin, TX (October 9, 2024) – FloSports is filling out its FloTrack team in preparation for its Wanda Diamond League debut in 2025 with a handful of digital creators entrenched in the sport. The hires include Johnny Pace, a top content creator with past experience working with leading brands, including Brooks, Nike, On, and adidas, Nia Gibson, previously an Assistant Editor of Audience Engagement at ESPN, and John Davern, an editor for FloSports’ MileSplit. The trio will contribute to FloTrack content immediately.
Pace, a former cross country and track athlete at the University of Virginia, will serve as a Senior Content Creator for FloTrack and play a significant role in shaping content for the vertical including photo and video content efforts, event coverage, social content creation, and front-of-camera duties. Pace has been a highly sought-after freelance content creator in the running community for years having led projects for major brands, athletes, and media platforms.
Gibson, who ran track at Syracuse and graduated from the Newhouse School of Public Communications, will serve as an Associate Content Creator and produce and host FloTrack podcasts and studio shows while playing a significant role creating social content and writing stories for FloTrack editorial. She brings previous stints from the NBA and Overtime to this position.
After two years as MileSplit Pennsylvania State Editor, Davern will transition to a new role as an Associate Content Creator for FloTrack, contributing to written, social, and video content creation and event coverage. Davern ran cross country and track at Lock Haven University. He has previous experience contributing to FloTrack content as a key member of the coverage team for the 2024 Paris Olympics, 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, and 2024 Penn Relays.
FloTrack General Manager, Ryan Fenton commented about the hires, “We are building out a team with authentic and deep connections to the sport of track and field. These are professionals who will be speaking from a place of experience, providing the running community a new level of access and representation with the industry’s top athletes, agents, and brands, that we believe, will help grow the interest and excitement in the sport domestically in the U.S.”
The staffing comes in advance of FloTrack’s upcoming coverage of the Wanda Diamond League—the crown jewel of Track & Field – which hosts 15 of the best athletics meetings in the world with men and women competing in 16 of the sport’s primary disciplines. Pace, Gibson, and Davern will join experienced content creators Bryan Deibel and Ashley Tysiac on a team led by Dan Hall, who transitioned to a newly created leadership role in July from the company’s commercial partnerships team. FloTrack content engagement metrics have seen significant growth this year including a nearly 100% increase YOY in platform unique visitors and 65% YOY increase in social engagements. FloTrack’s Paris Olympics coverage drove 137 million social impressions, 6 million social engagements and nearly 1 million unique visitors.
