Coffee with Larry, Episode 771, July 22, 2025, The London Diamond League, Deep Thoughts

This is my daily chat with #RunBlogRun viewers and track fans on all things track & field!
This is Coffee with Larry for Thursday, November 30, 2023.
This is a Special edition filmed at the ASICS booth at the Runnign Event 2023.
1. The industry continues to recover and grow post-pandemic.
2. Strong numbers of European retailers, and South American running retailers at TRE.
3. ON running continues to impress.
4. BROOKS running had great special event on 11/29 with Nia Atkins, Josh Kerr and Des Linden (emceed by Garrett Heath and Linden).
5. Impressed with HOKA’s continued to evolution.
6. HOKA NAZ dominated #CROSSCOUNTRYCHAMPS, sponsored by #soundrunning
7. Brilliant move by Jessie Williams to feature elite XC event where many of sport sponsors, retailers and key players would be!
8. Great conversations with many of the retailers, lots of changes there, as a new generation of retailers is upon us and their approach to product is fascinating.
9. Best quote from a retailer: ” I have 13 brands on my wall, how do I do another without hurting one of my key brands?”
10. So many different ways to be successful in running, only key is to stay true to your culture.
11. #Diadora is combining hipster look with high-mileage shoes, and getting some resonance.
12. Fascinated to see how brands manage #Paris2024. #PUMA sees their investment in track, road running and several other sports key to their plans.
13. Saucony creating great product, but Wolverine owner, has injured brand by decimating brand culture and team. Nothing new from Wolverine, as they seem to butcher brands.
14. Nike had subdued presence, that was quite effective, in hall and off TRE.
15. Great catching up with adidas team, fascinated with Terrex-adidas collaboration!
16. Impressed with #ASICSrunning return to serious running and the accolades on their new product!
17. #Brooksparty enjoyed by many as #TRE ends.
17. Have a great holiday and see you all in 2024!
