In the pole vault Robert Sobera of Poland with 565 beat World indoor champion Kostas Filippidis 560. Swiss Selina Buchel in 2:01.87 was better in the 800 m than European medalist Joanna Jozwik 2:02.19 and Kristin Gierisch with indoor PB 14.30 was better in triple jump than European champion Olha Saladuha 14.14. In the 1500 m Bethwell Birgen scored the Kenyan win 3:40.58 over home star Homiyu Tesfaye 3:41.08.
DUSSELDORF BACKGROUND
HURDLES: French IAAF Diamond League winner last year Pascal Martinot-Lagarde unfortunately must for the moment stop his indoor season.
