Newton Motion III Named Best Renovation in Fortius Media Group, LLC, 2014 Spring Shoe Review
SAN JOSE – After a thorough review process, Fortius Media Group, LLC, selected the Newton Motion III as the best shoe renovation in the 2014 Spring Shoe Review.
“Runners are very lucky. There is very little equipment that is needed. For the past two decades, the partners of Fortius Media Group have relied on Cregg Weinmann, the runningproductreviews.com footwear reviewer, and his team, to suggest the finest running footwear available. Our reviews are now available daily, via social media, on digital and in print. The Spring and Fall Shoe Reviews have always been our largest, although Cregg reviews on a monthly basis around the year. As always, we suggest that the five million runners and walkers who read our reviews make their purchases in their local running store. Read globally, buy locally is our mantra,” noted Larry Eder, the publishing director of the Fortius Media Group, LLC.
Each spring and fall the Fortius Media Group reviewers put the best running shoes available to the test. Hundreds of wear testers are carefully matched to shoes based on their foot shape, motion and footstrike, before running 100 miles in the shoes. Testers report their initial impressions and continue to evaluate the shoes based on seven key performance characteristics during the testing process. All evaluations are put into a software system developed by Cregg Weinmann, the Fortius Media Group’s footwear reviewer, to produce a winner in each category.
“There is nearly a perfect shoe available for everyone, if you take the time to understand your footstrike and running needs, do the research and consult with your local running store,” said Weinmann.
Newton is evolving and so are its shoes, the Motion III is the first of Newton’s mainline shoes to be updated. The Motion III’s upper now features a light, but secure, full saddle with no-sew overlays. Lycra in the ankle collar and tongue keeps the interior smooth while offering nice comfort. The high-quality EVA midsole features a 3mm drop from heel to toe, a broader midfoot with a full-contact bottom and a new five-lug configuration Action/Reaction plate. The Motion III is more stable, with flatter geometry and new lug spacing, yet still delivers the unique Newton feel. To keep the shoe lightweight, yet adequate, the outersole uses rubber sparingly. The Motion III combines lightweight performance with just enough stability, earning it top honors as the best renovation (Weinmann 2014).
“Smooth, snug, comfortable fit. The ride was light and responsive, great for my faster runs,” said one wear tester about the Newton Motion III.
