Athletic Recon pushes the boundaries
with sub 4 minute mile runner, Brandon Bethke.
Costa Mesa, California (March 2014) – Men’s athletic brand Athletic Recon is proud to welcome distance runner Brandon Bethke onto the Athletic Recon team.
Brandon Bethke signs on as Athletic Recon’s premiere professional endurance athlete, joining the ranks alongside Crossfit endurance coach and author, Brian Mackenzie. Brandon’s appointment bolsters Athletic Recon’s foray into the world of professional athletes and establishes the brand as an up and coming player across many disciplines of professional sports.
Reflecting on his own milestone, legendary runner Roger Bannister once said, “More humans have conquered Mt. Everest than have broken the 4-minute mile.” Brandon Bethke ran a 3:57:34. He did this by demanding excellence daily. Bethke placed those same demands on his athletic apparel as he trained towards his elusive sub 4-minute goal. In the search for training apparel with an aesthetic that fuses form and function, Bethke found what he was looking for with Athletic Recon.
Bethke’s talent, combined with his drive and commitment, make him a true 2016 American Olympic hopeful in both the 5000-meter and marathon distance. Athletic Recon will be in Brandon’s corner the entire way.
Bethke is excited for the future with Athletic Recon; “Athletic Recon has the right type of tools that I need to accomplish the goals that I personally have. They support me in my training and they provide gear that accommodates all my needs. Not only that, but they support the entire industry of running – and they supply me with encouragement. Athletic Recon is the best brand I can think of to partner with. They represent exactly what I’m after”.
The new partnership with Bethke has provided Athletic Recon with even more energy and anticipation for the future. “Brandon is a gifted athlete but there’s much more to him than just running a sub 4 minute mile. We are truly honored to have him waving our flag within the endurance sports community. Brandon personifies the core essence of Athletic Recon. His dedication to sport, his intensity and his drive to compete at the highest level are truly something to be admired”, states Athletic Recon founder Ryan Heuser.
Bethke embodies the true spirit of the Athletic Recon man by constantly challenging himself and never letting walls, weather or boundaries stop him. He is not just a runner; he is an athlete and a competitor. He embraces the world outside, searching to explore trails in undiscovered places. Nature is his gym and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
