PRETORIA (RSA, Jan 25): Precious Mashele in 38:07 won the South Africa Cross-Country Trials at 12 km. Second Kgosi Tsosane 38:14 and third Sibusiso Nzima 38:15. Women 8 km winner was Glenrose Xaba in 29:11 over Nolene Conrad 29:32 and Lebo Phalula 29:42.
LATINA (ITA, Jan 26): Matteo Giupponi won the Italian 50 km walk championships with 3:51:49, his PB. Women 20 km was not national championships, Eleonora Giorgi won in 1:30:48.
ELDORET (KEN, Jan 26): Wilson Kiprop won the Discovery CC race at 10 km in 28:59 over Bedan Karoki 29:00 and Stanley Biwott 29:32, informs the IAAF. Last year number one marathon runner in the world Priscah Jeptoo won the women 6 km in 19:59. Second Jemima Jelagat 20:10 and third Rita Jeptoo 20:19.
HANNUIT (BEL, Jan 26): Kenyan Titus Mbishei won the Lotto CrossCup meet here (5th leg, EA CC Permit) in 26:43 at 9 km. Second Ethiopian Dame Tasama 26:55 and third his team-mate Birhan Nebebew 27:09. Fourth best home Abdi Bashir 27:13 and fifth Jeroen D´Hoedt 27:14. Women 6 km had Ethiopian winner Birtukan Adamu 20:16 at 6 km beating Kenyan Linah Cheruto 20:17 and Almensch Belete 20.22. Fourth Poland´s Dominika Nowakowska 20:28 and 7th best home Veerle Dejaeghere 20:37.
MARRAKECH (MAR, Jan 26): Ethiopian Deriba Robi won the 25th Marrakech Marathon in fast 2:08:04 personal best. Second Tebalu Zawude also from Ethiopia 2:08:20 in debut and third Kenyan Daniel Rono 2:09:07. In women category also an Ethiopian win for Meseret Tolwak 2:31:08, debut at the distance. She was followed by other Ethiopians Shuko Genemo 2:31:09 PB and Kumsa Chaltu Chimedsa 2:31:23. Idemo Guye from Ethiopia topped the half marathon in 1:01:26 ahead of Kenyan Richard Sigei 1:01:30 and home Hicham Laqouahi 1:01:33. Home win in women category for Rkia El Moukim 1:10:03 ahead of Eunice Chumba 1:10:46.
SAN SEBASTIAN (ESP, Jan 26): Former World CC Champion Joseph Ebuya won the 59th Donostia CC race here clearly in 32:00 at the 10 km. Second Eritrean Samuel Tsegay 33:00 ahead of reigning World CC Champion Japhet Korir 33:22 and Javier Garcia as best Spanish 33:28. In women 5.3 km steeple world champion Milcah Chemos got 24:21 over Ethiopian Marta Tigabea 24:26 and Diana Martin 24:33 with Alessandra Aguilar 24:37.
HUESCA (ESP, Jan 26): Ugandan Moses Kurong won the 37th Cross Memorial Jesus Luis Alos with 31:33 at 10.56 km. Second Kenyan Elijah Chelimo 31:38 and third Eliseo Martin 32:00. Spanish women win for Paula Gonzalez after 17:22 at 5.08 km.
LAS PALMAS (ESP, Jan 26): Eoin Flynn from Ireland 2:29:15 and British Philippa Taylor 2:54:31 were the winners of Gran Canaria Marathon. Special guest legendary Haile Gebrselassie.

AUBIERE (FRA, Jan 26): French Garfield Darien posted here at the regional championships world leading 7.55 at 60 m hurdles. Second Ladji Doucoure 7.70.
REIMS (FRA, Jan 26): European walking champion Yo
han Diniz was timed with national 5000 m indoor walk record 18:29.44, also a world lead.
BRATISLAVA (SVK, Jan 26): At Elan Meeting British sprinter Sean Antwi-Safo won the 60 m in 6.66 and beat Slovak 100 m record holder Adam Zavacky who opened his season with 6.67 PB. Greek sprinter Maria Gatou achieved twice 7.35 in the women 60 m, her new PB and missed Sopot standard only by 0.03. Mike Van Kruchten of Netherlands won the hurdles in 7.87 and Dana Veldakova got the triple 13.63.
SHEFFIELD (GBR, Jan 26): Great Britain with 25 790 points won the combined events match. Second Netherlands 25 555 ahead of Czech Republic 23 736, Spain 23 159 and France 19 590. Dutch Nadine Broersen won the pentathlon in world leading score 4656 points (8.42 hurdles, impressive 190 long jump, 14.93 shot put, 583 long jump and 2:17.28 in the 800 m). Second Nadine Visser 4268. John Lane scored British heptathlon record 5982 points ahead of Richard Reeks also representing Britain 5805 and French Bastien Auziel 5795.
ATHLONE (IRL, Jan 26): Keith Doherty at Irish Junior Indoor Champs national 60 m record of the junior category 6.88.
MALMO (SWE, Jan 26): At Pallasspelen Asian record holder Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar cleared excellent 235 cm. He is not accepting invitations to the meetings, just doing small meetings, while having training camp in Sweden. Wictor Petersson’s shot put 19.63 (5 kg, born in 1998) is another top result here.
GENT (BEL, Jan 26): 2009 European Indoor hurdles champion Eline Berings of Belgium clocked 8.01 at the Flemish Championships, securing qualification for Sopot. She is the first Belgian to qualify for the World Indoors.
LEE VALLEY (GBR, Jan 26): At the London Games Rion Pierre ran personal best in the 60 m with 6.60 ahead of Andy Robertson 6.71. Pierre had won an earlier race with 6.64. Nick Gayle got the 60 m hurdles in 7.72. Dina Asher Smith also made small improvement to her best with 7.31 in the women 60 m and Gemma Bennett took the hurdles in 8.24.
SPALA (POL, Jan 26): At Polish national junior championships Dawid Zebrowski in the youth 60 m hurdles (91.4) clocked new national youth mark 7.82. In the youth shot put Konrad Bukowiecki achieved 21.83 with the 5 kg implement. Missed his own World Youth all-time best by only 6 cm. Ewa Swoboda was timed with national youth record 7.46 in the heats of girls 60 m, in the final 7.47.
ATHENS (GRE, Jan 26): At Elliniko Greek outdoor 100 m hurdles junior record holder Elisávet PesirÃdou showed huge improvement in her first official 2014 indoor competition at the 60m hurdles. She clocked a pb of 8.31 (had run 8.35 unofficially last week) and now is 7th in the all-time list. Later she won the 60m flat with another PB, 7.52. Under the eyes of Nikoléta Kiriakopoúlou, who was just back from Rouen, Loréla Mánou opened her indoor campaign with a 4.20 victory at the pole vault.
SPALA (POL, Jan 26): At an open meet Dariusz Kuc sprinted the 60 m in 6.69. Piotr Lisek cleared 570 in the pole vault, new personal best. Justyna Swiety posted national women 300 m record 38.02. Danuta Urbanik won the 1000 m in 2:41.08.
BUCURESTI (ROU, Jan 26): Best results of second day of Open Championships by World Youth Champion Florentina Marincu 642 in the long jump.
ANCONA (ITA, Jan 26): New Italian 1000 m indoor record for Margherita Magnani 2:39.94.
REYKJAVIK (ISL, Jan 25-26): At Club Championships middle distance talent Anita Hinriksdottir was third in the 200 m during the first day 25.53 and in the second day improved national senior indoor record in the 1500 m to 4:19.31.
UDINE (ITA, Jan 25): Slovenian pole vaulter Tina Sutej cleared here 456 cm, new national indoor record.
MAGGLINGEN (SUI, Jan 26): Rolf Fongue was timed with 6.74 in the 60 m, Ellen Sprunger equaled her 200 m indoor PB 23.59.
KARLSRUHE (GER, Jan 26): Second day of South German Indoor champs had good hurdles. Gregor Traber 7.70 and Nadine Hildebrand 8.00.
LEIPZIG (GER, Jan 26): Christian Blum won the 60 m at regional championships with 6.63. In the 200 m Sebastian Ernst 21.00 ahead of Robin Erewa 21.01.
