Pacific Northwest’s Racing Elite Compete in 15th Annual BorderClash
High School Runners From Washington, Oregon Battle in Night XC Race; Athletes Galen Rupp and Jordan Hasay to Appear
WHAT: For the first time and in honor of the 15th anniversary, Nike presents the BorderClash as an evening race. 160 elite high school runners, representing Washington or Oregon, compete in a dual meet format under the stars, barreling towards each other in a cross-country showdown designed to determine the best running state in the Pacific Northwest.
Elite runners Galen Rupp and Jordan Hasay cheer on participants, who despite being staunch competitors during race season, join together to rally as one team under one state flag, across a grueling course on the campus of Nike’s world headquarters.
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 23
Boys Race: 5:30 p.m., Girls Race: 6:30 p.m.
Futureclashers race: 5 p.m.
Media check-in: 4 p.m. (at Tiger Woods Center)

Larry Eder has had a 52-year involvement in the sport of athletics. Larry has experienced the sport as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now, journalist and blogger. His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. He currently manages the content and marketing development of the RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun.
