Sebastian Coe is a two time silver medalist at the 800 meter distance and two time gold medalist at the 1,500 meter distance. For most of the past eight years, Sebastian Coe was the spokesperson and leader of the 2012 London Olympics. That the event was a resounding success should not have been a surprise. Coe is single minded when he needs to be, and he truly loves the sport.

September 8 – Sebastian Coe urged the new International Olympic Committee (IOC) President to reach out to young people, as he won a standing ovation for London 2012’s final report to IOC members here today.
In conversation after his speech, Coe, the British Olympic Association chairman, said that Jacques Rogge’s successor as IOC President “just has to figure out how we connect with young people”.
Young people under 30, he argued, were deeply suspicious of institutions the older generation took for granted.
This presented sport with an opportunity to “fill the void”.
