MOSCOW (RUS): One of the big favourites for the women’s 1500, Abeba Aregawi of Sweden has been suffering from stomach problems, reports aftonbladet.se. The 23 year old vomited on her way to compete in the heats this morning, where she safely qualified for the semi-final. Her physiotherapist says that these stomach problems are common for Aregawi before competitions and added that it was nothing serious.
MOSCOW (RUS): Saudi Arabian 400m runner Yousef Ahmed Masrahi said that he doesn’t feel pressurised by the medal winning expectations held by many people in Saudi Arabia, reports supersport.com. The 25 year old has made big improvements since he moved to John Smith’s training group in the US. Masrahi, who was a middle distance runner before switching to the 400m, has improved his personal best from 45.43 to 44.72 this year.
MOSCOW (RUS): Tirunesh Dibaba says that she isn’t disappointed that she will not run the 5000m as it gives a chance to the younger stars of the Ethiopian team, informs supersport.com. The newly crowned World 10,000m champion would not let her sister Genzebe, who is racing the 1500m, watch her race from the stadium as she wanted her to rest at the hotel before the semi-finals of her 1500m. She added that she is not sure if she will watch Genzebe race in Moscow or if she will fly home to Ethiopia.
MOSCOW (RUS): French sprinter Christophe Lemaitre injured his thigh when finishing 7th in the 100m final, reports ledauphine.com. Lemaitre left the medical centre at the Luzhniki stadium supported by two people and travelled back to the hotel in an ambulance. His coach Pierre Caraz indicated that there would be no chance that Lemaitre would return for the 200m or the 4x100m relay.

FALMOUTH (USA, Aug 10): On warm 7miles of “Falmouth road race” Micah Kogo confirms his great shape of the moment winning again as Joyce Chepkirui did the same on women side. Micah Kogo took first place in 32:13 with second place for US Ben True 32:19. Former London Marathon champ Emmanuel Mutai was third in same time as second placed. Abdi Abirahman was fourth in 32:28 while Ben Bruce was fifth in 32:44. Women side also far from record with a impressive run from Joyce Chepkirui in 36:42 over Gemma Steel of Great Britain 37:05 and Lineth Masai 37:06. Diane Nukuri Johnson was fourth in 37:15 and fifth Dutch Adrienne Herzog in 37:20.
