Silva gets overall CAC record 476 cm, Lavillenie remains unbeaten

Cuban olympic medalist Yarisley Silva jumped in first 470 and was an clear winner, but continued and mastered 476 with a top jump also in first. That was new world lead for some minutes (until Bleasdale got 477 in Sheffield) and new continental overall record. Her outdoor best was so far 475 cm. She also tried at 478 with three attempts. Second Anastasiya Savchenko improved her best to 465 and third Nikolia Kiriakopoulou new Greek indoor record 460 with fourth European champion Jirina Svobodova season best of 460. The world champion Fabiana Murer due to injury after 445 had two failures at 455 and did not jump in third. For 2009 World champion Anna Rogowska in season debut a no-height at 445 and for World junior record holder Angelica Bengtsson at 420.
Bleasdale 477 WL
SHEFFIELD (GBR, Feb 9): Holly Bleasdale highlighted the first day of British Trials and Championships with 477 world leading third attempt clearance in the pole vault. Before she had 435/1, 450/2, 465/1 and then tried also at new national record height 490. James Dasaolu won in absence of Dwain Chambers the 60 m in fast 6.58 ahead of Harry Aikines-Aryetey 6.69. Very impressive also the 2007 European junior champion Asha Philip who improved in the 60 m to excellent 7.15. High quality also the 52.06 personal best in the 400 m semis by hurdler Eilidh Child. Gianni Frankis clocked 7.73 to win the 60 m hurdles as fastest in the heats Andy Pozzi (7.62) did not run the finals. Matthew Burton surprised with 794 personal best the long jump favorite Chris Tomlinson 788. Tosin Oke who represents now Nigeria topped the triple jump 16.87. Interesting to note that olympic 400 m medalist Christine Ohuruogu clocked 7.62 and 7.58 in heats and semis of the women 60 m.
Sweden wins the match
VAXJO (SWE, Feb 9): Sweden won the Nordenkampen in Telekonsult Arena of Vaxjo what is a good sign before the European Indoor Championships in Goteborg. Men scored 109 points ahead of Finland 92 and Norway 68, in the women match the same order with 104, 92 and 75 points. Eurowinner Moa Hjelmer got the 400 m (53.50, second Finnish junior Ella Rasanen 53.52 with senior NR), Malin Dahlstrom pole vault (435) and Emma Green-Tregaro high jump for hosts (189). Norway clocked in women 4×200 m national record 1:35.81.
US INDOOR FRIDAY RESULTS
FAYETTEVILLE: First day of Tyson Invitational saw world leading 51.67 by Regina George in the women 400 m. She represents since last year Nigeria, formerly USA. Jamaican world class sprinter Kerron Stewart was fourth in 53.82. Another world lead for Kenyan Kennedy Kithuka with 13:26.65 overall PB in the 5000 m in a big solo when the second was one minute behind. Fast men 60 m as Marvin Bracy the high school talent in his first senior year improved to 6.54 and second Dentarius Locke 6.56. Good times in heats and semis by Clayton Vaughn 6.32, Bryce Robinson 6.62 and Mark Jelks 6.62. 20-years old Vernon Norwood was the fastest in the 400 m with huge indoor PB 46.02, in another races Mike Berry 46.48 and Russian Anton Kokorin 46.88. Caleb Cross clocked PB 7.65 to win the 60 m hurdles over Caribbeans Jamaican Keiron Stewart 7.66 and Greggmar Swift of Bahamas 7.68. Jamaican long jump win for Damar Forbes 794. Kenyan Patrick Rono won the 800 m in 1:47.62, second fastest time by another section winner Briton Chris O´Hare 1:48.28. US Riley Masters improved on the mile to winning 3:56.25 ahead of Briton Chris Gowell 3:57.85. Terry Prentice scored nice heptathlon PB 5826 points. In other women events Octavius Freeman won the 60 m in 7.20 ahead of Jamaican Jura Levy 7.25 (in semis Aurieyall Scott 7.20). Tiffany McReynolds was the fastest in the 60 m hurdles 8.02. Russian Nataliya Bartnovskaya improved to 443 in the pole vault and Bianca Stuart of Bahamas leaped to 658 in the long jump.
NAMPA: Jeremy Taiwo cleared during first day of BSU Team Challenge world indoor high jump best in heptathlon with 225 cm. Former top mark was 224 by another US jumper Nick Ross last year in Fayetteville. Taiwo leads the heptathlon with 3570 points (7.02-742-14.18 in other events). His decathlon best is 7742 and before 2013 best in high jump was 212 cm.
CLEMSON: Brent Lee won the 60 m in 6.65 at the Tiger Paw Invitational. In heats South African olympic finalist Anaso Jobodwana in his first ever 60 m indoors got 6.73. Dezerea Bryant won the women 60 m in 7.24. Jamaican Erik Keddo got the hurdles in 7.73 ahead of Serbian Milan Ristic 7.75 PB.
BLACKSBURG: At Virginia Tech Elite Marquis Dendy leaped to 799 in the long jump, Eddie Lovett clocked 7.66 at 60 m hurdles and Hugh Graham jr. 6.65 in the 60 m.
ALLENDALE: 21-years old Declan Murray improved to 1:47.59 at the 800 m during the GVSU Big Meet.
ALBUQUERQUE: Kylie Hutson cleared at Don Kirby Invitational 462 in the pole vault, 400 m hurdles olympic finalist Georganne Moline clocked 52.27 (overall PB) to win the 400 m ahead of 800 m US champion Alysia Montano 53.05 (indoor PB). Geronne Black won the 60 m in 7.27 PB and Jamaican Shanieka Thomas improved to 14.08 in the triple jump. In men races Ryan Milus won the 60 m in 6.67 ahead of Carlos Rodriguez who clocked new Puertorican record 6.69. In the 200 m Timothy Faust beat Gregory Turner as both were timed with 20.97. Trinidad´s Jarrin Solomon won the 400 m in fast 46.23 and olympic medalist Erik Kynard cleared 228 in the high jump. Michael Woepse got pole vault life-time best 560 and Jordan Clarke 20.21 in the shot put.
SEATTLE: Husky Classic started with good 5000 m races at the oversized track here. Jordan Hasay won the women in 15:46.30 and Kevin Williams in close finishe men race 13:38.57 ahead of Kenyans Shadrack Kipchirchir 13:38.57 and Anthony Rotich 13:38.58.
BLOOMINGTON: Olympic medalist Derek Drouin cleared 232 at Hoosier Hills indoor meet and was just 1 cm behind the Canadian indoor record. Kind Butler showed solid sprinting shape with 6.67 and 21.10.

BUCURESTI (ROU, Feb 9): Olympic medalist Marian Oprea leaped to 16.81 in first day of National Championships. Impressive 60 m win in 6.60 life-time best by Catalin Cimpeanu. It means he equaled the 32-years old national record of Johann Schromm from 1981.
SPALA (POL, Feb 9): At open meet Kamila Stepaniuk cleared Goteborg standard with 192 cm in the high jump. Kamil Krynski sprinted to 6.73 in the 60 m and Adrian Strzalkowski equaled his outdoor long jump best with 788 cm.
HAMILTON (NZL, Feb 9): At Porritt Classic field hockey player Anita Punt won the sprints with 11.72 (+2.2) and 23.95 (+2.3). Stuart Farquhar achieved 78.28 in javelin.
CHISINAU (MDA, Feb 9): Olympic 8th placer Zalina Marghieva won the Moldovan Winter Throwing championships with good quality 74.28 in hammer. She missed her own national record only by 19 cm. Her brother Serghei Marghiev won the men hammer (71.52).
