Tyson Gay had not raced between July 2011 and June 9, 2012. On June 9, 2012, Tyson Gay ran 10.00 into a negative 1.5 wind at the adidas Grand Prix. On June 23, 2012, Tyson ran the first round of the 100 meters at the US Trials, winning his heat. On June 24, 2012, Tyson Gay ran the semi-final, moved to the final, with a 10.04.
In the final, on the evening of June 24, 2012, Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin dueled, with Gatlin taking first and Gay taking second.
Tyson Gay, the AR, is on the 2012 Olympic team for the 100 meters.
