Tyson Gay, the man who has not raced since July 2011, put smiles on his many fans faces. With a so-so start, Tyson Gay took command of his the race by 40 meters, running a solid 10.00 into -1.5 head wind. Tyson told the assembled media, that ” I think that my agent tricked me, he was saying that he put me in a low key race. When I saw the cameras, I got nervous. The race was good, I felt no pain. I have the time to get ready for the Trials.”

Oscar Pistorius, aka the Blade Runner, ran 46.14. In order to make the RSA team, Oscar must hit the A standard one more time. He has a few races left with which he can race to make the standard by 30 June.

David Rudisha has run 1:41.09 and 1:41.01, both world records, within one week in 2010. On Friday, for the third time, David Rudisha told the media that he would run 1:42 at the adidas meet. ” I opened in Australia, in 1:44, then I ran 1:43, and now I would like to run 1:42.”
With Matthew Scherer, arguably the smoothest pacemaker of his generation, Rudisha hit the 400 meters in 49.09, and then, the race began.
Lifting his knees, and pumping his arms, Daniel Rudisha surged away from the field and sprinted into his own little world. A world where 1:41.74 is matter of fact, a world where David Rudisha becomes the meet record holder, and the man who has run the 800 meters the fastest in North America.
D
avid Rudisha is the best 800 meter runner on the planet. At his top form, no one can run with him. Mr. Rudisha , whose English is precise and thoughtful noted this, ” I hope to be fit for London.”
I shudder to think how fast this man can run. I see a 1:40.6 this season.

Bernard Lagat gave many a scare last weekend at Pre with his less than fast mile. Lagat made up for it today with a brilliant win in 3:34.63 for the 1,500 meters. ” Coming into the last lap, I felt good. These last two races told me that I am ready. I will concentrate on one race, and I will be ready June 28. It was able to come together for me in the last 80 meters.”
Nice run by David Torrance, he looks quite ready for the Trials.
