2012 Virgin London Marathon: Wicks, Geneti out of London, 40,000 plus others racing! release, note by Larry Eder

It is Wednesday afternoon, April 18, as I sit in the Madison, Wisconsin airport. I am having a Sam Adams lager and updating your favorite blog. Thanks to Nicola Okey of the Virgin London marathon, we get updated on everything going on in London. This years race will be the virtual trials for Kenyan, Ethiopian and several other countries. The race should be very fast and extremely close. Watch for our updates starting tomorrow!

Marathon MPs unite across the political divide

Labour’s
Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls put his arms around five Conservative MPs
outside the Houses of Parliament yesterday as political foes became long
distance comrades united across the ideological divide by their common
quest to finish the 26.2-mile journey to Westminster in the 2012 Virgin
London Marathon.

Hamstring injury rules Wicks out of London Marathon

Phil
Wicks’ Olympic dreams were shattered today when he was forced to make
the “agonising decision” to pull out of this year’s Virgin London
Marathon because of a hamstring injury.

Geneti out of London Marathon

Ethiopia’s
rising marathon star Markos Geneti has withdrawn from the 2012 Virgin
London Marathon on the request of the Ethiopian federation.
