Nice runs by Ben True and Werknesh Kidane in the BAA 5ks! Ben ran 13:41 for the win and Werknesh ran 15:12, both new course records. Six thousand runners participated in the sunny and warm conditions. On the mile side, Collis Birmingham won the men’s elite mile in 4:06 and Morgan Uceny, the number one rated women at the 1,500m for 2011, won in 4:43.8. A very nice addition to the Marathon weekend, the BAA 5k and elite mile has quite a draw, staged at the finish line of the marathon.
The BAA’s Jack Fleming told us how please he was with the turn out and also reminded us that they would provide an update on the marathon conditions expected for Monday.
