Tom Sturak was one of the most influential people in our sport. He, Pete Peterson & Goeff Hollister, were sports marketing in track & field and running. A man full of piss & vinegar ( I love that term, but it applies here), Sturak had time for those who loved the sport.
Mike Fanelli, one of our sport’s keenest observers, wrote the following notes about Tom. Tom is having a tough time and his health bills are adding up. Runblogrun asked that you give up that six pack of imported Belgian ale and two burritos as large as your head and, instead, send the $20 to the address noted below. You will be doing a good thing.
Our old friend Tom Sturak needs help ASAP…there is a $22,000 gap in his immediate health care coverage…am sending a check this morning…can you possibly help? …can you share this with others who may know Tom who gave much more to our sport than he ever took away…know that he and Jacqueline will be deeply appreciative of any …assistance that you might lend
– your pal, Mike Fanelli
Your help is needed – support Tom Sturak with a donation to help cover a $22K gap in his health insurance coverage: Imperial Care Center, 11441 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, CA 91604 – Saydi Villacana, Business Office, (818) 766-9551 x 2936.
