Well, one thing is for sure. Anna Alminova is probably going to run something in Berlin at the World Championships, either 800 meters (she has world leader), or the 1,500 meters ( second best 1,500 meters).

ALEKHINA WORLD LEADING 15.14, ALMINOVA 3:58.38 AT 1500 m
CHEBOKSARY (RUS, July 26): Interesting things from last day of Russian Championships. 25 years old Nadezhda Alekhina had until Sunday 14.43 life-time best from last year. In Cheboksary she achieved in third round huge improvement to world leading 15.14 (+1.9). Second Anna Pyatykh (14.67) ahead of Yekaterina Kayukova (14.64). European indoor champion and world leader at 800 m Anna Alminova improved her PB in the 1500 m final (she passed the 800 m final) to European leading and second best in the world 3:58.38. Second Natalya Yevdokimova 3:59.46 and third Oksana Zbrozhek 4:00.86 PB. European Champion Tatyana Lysenko returned after two years doping ban with excellent 76.41 in hammer what is third best mark of the season. Also to note that no other throwers surpassed the 80 metres. Yulia Gushchina won the 200 m in 22.71 beating Elena Bolsun (22.80) and Olga Zaytseva (22.82). In men events Aleksey Zagorniy got exactly 80 metres, Ivan Teplykh won the 200 m in 20.80 and Igor Spasovkhodskiy as the only one went over 17 metres with 17.22.
GERMAN SPRINT RELAY GOLDS
NOVI SAD (SRB, July 26): The last, 4th day of the 20th European Athletics Junior Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia has brought 18 finals. The performance of Andriy Martynyuk in menÂ´s hammer throw (6kg) came to a head as a new championships record. The 18-year-old Ukrainian took the lead in first series achieving 79.54m. 79.14m is the result and a new PB of silver Ãkos Hudi from Hungary. Nico Weiler was the best in menÂ´s pole vault getting over 5.25m. Russian high jumper Natalya Mamlina managed a new PB 1.91m to win the European junior title ahead of Marija Vukovic (MNE) in the national record 1.89m. The next national senior record was achieved in the womenÂ´s 400m hurdles final, when the home Mila Andric pleased the crowd with a silver medal in 57.55s. The same scenario and Serbian record came in womenÂ´s javelin thanks to almost 19-year-old Tatjana Jelaca achieving 60.35m. The victory went to German Inga MÃ¼ller clocking 57.16s. The gold went to German team also among men in the same event, when Tobias Giehl improved his PB into 50.85s to win. WomenÂ´s triple jump ended in favor of Estonian Liane Pintsaar improving her PB and taking gold for 13,89m. Spanish 800m runner Kevin LÃ³pez clearly beat the field to get the title in 1:48.25. Talented Darya Yachmeneva from Russia, who improved her PB with almost 5 seconds today, came for the victory at the womenÂ´s 1500m final in 4:14.64. National Croatian record and gold medal was achieved by Sandra Perkovic in womenÂ´s discus for 62.44m as she had almost no rivals in the field with more than 7 meters ahead of the rest. The 8m border was not broken in the menÂ´s long jump final where Russian Aleksandr Menkov dominated with 7,98m. The fastest 4x100m relay belongs to the womenÂ´s (44.86s) and menÂ´s team of Germany (39.33s). WomenÂ´s 4x400m European junior title went to the team of Ukraine in 3:35.82 and on the menÂ´s side the team of Great Britain dominated in 3:07.85 to end the championships.
EVORA 17.82, BUT WITH WIND
SEIXAL (POR, July 25-26): Olympic and world winner Nelson Evora produced two huge jumps at National Championships, unfortunately both were aided by wind: 17.82 (+2.5) and 17.63 (+4.1). His only legal mark was 16.94 (+1.7). Naide Gomes who just returned from London won on Sunday her event with 638 (+4.2). Olympic 2004 medalist Rui Silva won tactical 800 m in 1:51.97. On the first day windy 100 m by Francis Obikwelu (10.06 +3.0) ahead of Arnaldo Abrantes (10.13). No improvement also for Joao Almeida whoÂ´s 13.71 were wind-aided (+2.2). Sara Moreira achieved 9:54.26 in the steeple, Marco Fortes 19.65 in shot put. In track 10 000 m walk Ines Henriques got the title (43:59.73) ahead of Vera Santos (44:11.89) and Susana Feitor (44:34.65). In close 20 km menÂ´s race Joao Vieira and Sergio Vieira had the same 1:24:00.4.
OTHER RESULTS
ZEULENRODA (GER, July 26): 11th International meeting registered fast 13.38 (+1.2) by Alexander John in 110 m hurdles heats. Stefan Eberhardt achieved 2:19.79 in 1000 m test.m Charles Friedek tried unsuccesfully for German triple norm with 16.95 (+1.3). Australian world junior champion 2006 Dani Samuels won the discus (62.25) ahead of home star and world senior champion Franka Dietzsch (60.26) who this time beat all her national rivals. Bulgarian Peta Dacheva was the best in triple jump (14.15, +1.8). Maike Dix clocked German season leading 23.26 (+1.3) at 200 m. Ali Obaid Shirook of United Arab Emirates equalled his own 400 m hurdles national record 49.66. Colombian Daniel Grueso won the 100 m in 10.31 (+1.0) and Jamaican Ryan Shields the 200 m (20.78, +1.0).
KOSE (EST, July 26): Estonian national series BIGBANK Kuldliiga saw home star Gerd Kanter achieving another discus win with 66.97 m. Taavi Peetre got 20.05 in shot put. In triathlon European indoor champion Mikk Pahapill scored 2656 points (14.61-761-46.48).
ABUJA (NGR, July 24-25): Ajoke Odumosu achieved during last day of Nigerian Championships new national record 54.80 at 400 m hurdles. Obinna Metu won after 100 m also the 200 m in 20.59. Long jumper, Stanley Gbagbeke as the favorite won with a leap of 792. Saul Weigopwa won the 400m for the fourth time (46.01). Blessing Okagbare won her special event the long jump with 673 cm.
PORTLAND (USA, July 25): At throwing meeting olympic discus winner Stephanie Trafton-Brown achieved 63.40 in discus. Jessica Cosby got 71.30 in hammer and Kim Kreiner 60.53 in javelin.
SOPOT (POL, July 26): At Janusz Sidlo Memorial London winner Anna Rogowska cleared 460 in pole vault ahead of former record holder Stacy Dragila (435). Romanian Anca Heltne achieved 18.50 in shot put. Ukrainian Myhalo Knysh won the 400 m in 46.55 ahead of home hurdles star Marek Plawgo (46.75). Mykola Labovskiy also from Ukraine won the 3000 m in 7:56.25. Mateusz Didenkow was the best in men pole vault (546) ahead of Germans Hendrik Gruber (531) and Tim Lobinger (531).
BUCURESTI (ROU, July 25): Experienced Claudia Steff won the national 20 km walking championships in solid 1:32:46.
SAARBRUCKEN (GER, July 26): Javelin thrower Tino Haber confirmed his shape with 80.88 m result.
REGENSBURG (GER, July 25): Christian Blum clocked 10.28 (+1.9) at 100 m to win the regional championships.
