A story about Emil Zatopek, a man who I consider, the finest distance runner of all times.
Emil ran his first race as a 15-year-old, a 5k, in boots, and won. That was in 1943. In 1948, in the first Olympics after

World War 2, Emil, in the Czech Army, won the longest race on the track, the 10,000m. He nearly lapped the entire field.
Emil grimaced each footstep, and his arms jutted out into the air. To say that his form was less than perfect, was an
understatement. He would almost win the 5,000m as well, falling down and getting back up, and taking the silver. In 1952, Emil would
win the 10,000m, 5,000m, and first marathon. Just before he entered the stadium, winning his first marathon, Emil’s wife, Daniela,
had won the Olympic javelin!

Wednesday: warm-up, 40-50 minutes, moderate running, 6 x 100m stride outs, cooldown
Thursday: Warm-up, 12 x 400m, at 3000m pace, 400m jog in between, cooldown
Friday: warm-up, 40-50 minutes moderate running, 6 x100m stride outs, cooldown
Saturday: warm-up, Racing on the relay, 4x400m, plus a 1000m, or an 800m, cool down
Sunday: 65-70 minutes moderate pace, on trails
