Mahuchikh starts the season with 202
KYIV (UKR, Jan 9): World U20 record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh opened the indoor season in big style. At Christmas Stars indoor meet the World Champs silver medalist cleared all 7 heights from 180 to 202 in first attempt. Only afterwards she three times missed 204. She with that equalled her national indoor record from last year in Karlsruhe. It is her 7th 2+ competition indoor or outdoor. Her main rival Yulia Levchenko went over 195 as second and Iryna Gerashchenko 192 as third. Another top mark was the Ukrainian indoor 5000 m walk record 20:59.1 by European medalist 2018 Lyudmila Olyanovska. Long jump star Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk was second in the 60 m with 7.58 behind Mariya Mokrova 7.49. Also to note pole vault winners, Vladyslav Malykhin 550 and Yana Hladiychuk 440. Serhiy Nikiforov leaped to 792 in long jump, Artem Konovalenko 16.22 in triple jump. Anna Plotitsyna clocked 8.25 in the 60 m hurdles and Eduard Zabuzhenko went 19:07.5 in 5000 m walk.
