AMSTERDAM (NED): Former world 200m champion Dafne Schippers says she will race few or no indoor competitions this winter following news that the World Indoors was cancelled. “As it looks now, it is not a very serious goal for me to do indoor. It is precisely to take the road very quietly and start the competition season outside earlier, because we have a fairly short season,” she said in a new episode of the NOS Olympic Podcast. The Dutch 400 m star Lisanne de Witte said on twitter: “Can’t say the message of the World Indoor Championships being postponed (again) didn’t get to me a little bit. I was eager to go out there after a year without racing. I’ll keep preparing for the indoor season and let’s hope the other champs and Olympics won’t be canceled!Crossed fingers.”
