GOTHENBURG (SWE, Aug 29): The Gothenburg GP (WACT Bronze) was highlighted by a fast 5000m with Australians Stewart McSweyn and Matthew Ramsden taking a 1-2 in 13:09.83 and 13:16.63 respectively. Suldan Hassan just missed Anders Garderud’s long-standing Swedish record in third in 13:18.01 while 19-year-old Swede Emil Millan De La Oliva clocked 13:29.59 in seventh NJR to move to third on the European all-time U20 list. There were good British wins for Daniel Rowden in the 800m in a 1:44.74 PB ahead of Sweden’s Andreas Kramer in 1:45.34, Melissa Courtney-Bryant won the 1500m in 4:05.07 from Australia’s Jessica Hull in 4:05.47 and European U20 200m champion Amy Hunt won the 100m in 11.39. World silver medallist Raevyn Rogers won the 800m in 2:01.24 from Brit Keely Hodgkinson in 2:01.78 and Norway’s Line Kloster won the 400m hurdles in 57.15. In blustery conditions Khaddi Sagnia won the women’s long jump with a wind-aided 6.75 (+2.6) and Thobias Montler won the men’s long jump with a wind-legal 8.11m. Angelica Bengtsson cleared 4.53m in the women’s pole vault to beat Holly Bradshaw at 4.48m and there were also home wins for Wictor Petersson (20.48m) and Fanny Roos (18.19m) in the shot put.
