Bach´s message
LAUSANNE (SUI): IOC President Thomas Bach has called on the Olympic Movement to “look more closely into the proliferation of sports events” in an open letter on the coronavirus pandemic. Bach wrote an open letter to the Olympic Movement to initiate a debate on the challenges and opportunities the situation presents. “We will all need to take a close look at the scope of some of our activities and make the necessary adjustments to the new realities. In this context, the IOC administration is reviewing the IOC’s budget and priorities. This review will shortly be presented to the IOC Executive Board for discussion and approval.” Bach also acknowledged more virtual competitions and suggest it may have an impact on the relationship between the Olympic Movement and e-sports.
