Cross Country championships abound, as high school state meets are ending, Nike NXN meets are starting, and NCAA regionals have just happened. Walt Murphy is the publisher of XC XPress and Eastern Track. Walt is a keen observer of the sport, and publishes both publications for the good of the sport. Here is a quick look at Saturdayâ€™s NCAA Division I Regionals. Current rankings are in ( ).
At-large selections, complete team scores, and additional individual results will be included in the final version of this weekâ€™s issue.
The top two teams automatically qualify for the National Championships, which will be held in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Monday, November 24. An additional 13 at-large teams will be selected later today(Sunday).
The top four individuals in each Region who are not members of a qualifying team will also advance. Two at-large individuals will be selected on Sunday, based on their placing at the Regional meet. All individual qualifiers must finish in the top 25.

Larry Eder has had a 52-year involvement in the sport of athletics. Larry has experienced the sport as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now, journalist and blogger. His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from American Athletics to the U.S. version of Spikes magazine. He currently manages the content and marketing development of the RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun. Of RunBlogRun, his daily pilgrimage with the sport, Larry says: "I have to admit, I love traveling to far away meets, writing about the sport I love, and the athletes I respect, for my readers at runblogrun.com, the most of anything I have ever done, except, maybe running itself."
