Well, the Jamaican Trials showed the world that the Jamaican women are back! Amazing 100m and 200m perfomances.
Thompson and Fraser-Pryce both 10.73 WL
KINGSTON (JAM, Jun 20-21): Great 100 m women final at Jamaican Championships and Doha Trials. World leads for Elaine Thompson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as both clocked 10.73 (+0.6), the 2016 Olympic winner taking the victory by milimetres. Third World U20 champion Brianna Williams clocked Jamaican junior record and World U18 all-time best 10.94 and 4th fastest ever in the U20 category. She got first national U20 mark in semifinals with 11.02. Also fast fourth Jonielle Smith 11.04. In men´s 100 m Yohan Blake won with 9.96 (+0.4) over Tyquendo Tracey 10.00 and Rasheed Dwyer 10.10 with Senoj-Jay Givans fourth 10.13. Good times also for 400 m hurdles winners, Kemar Mowatt 48.70 and Rushell Clayton 54.73 PB. In women race top 7 went sub 56. Second Shiann Salmon 55.39 and third Ronda Whyte 55.41 with Janieve Russell fourth 55.57. Former DL winner Kaliese Carter was 7th 55.87. In women 400 m prelims fastest time 51.47 by Christine Day. In technical events, Tisanna Hickling got long jump 678 (-0.3) and Shadae Lawrence discus 61.14, in men´s triple Bahamian Latario Collie 17.14 (+3.3) over Clive Pullen 17.02 (+4.6). In the U20 100 m Oblique Seville 10.13 (+0.8), in the U18 Ackeem Blake 10.41 (+0.5) and Tia Clayton 11.39 (+1.2).
