TOKYO (JPN): 2018 Boston Marathon winner Yuki Kawauchi, 32, has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with piano maker Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd. Informs Brett Larner. “What I like about a Yamaha piano is that it’s all there in front of you in black and white, like life,” said Kawauchi, an avid pianist as a child before his parents made him pursue running. “I hope that we’ll have a long and harmonious relationship, with just a hint of dissonance for depth.”

And all of a sudden I’ve got a new marathon hero. Yuki Kawauchi. This guy just won the 2018 Boston Marathon. He’s not a pro, doesn’t have any sponsors and has a 9-5 full-time job. How could he beat the elite athletes? Experience. With 76 sub 2:20 marathons he knows how to run them. He even tried to run three sub 2:09 marathons in three months ðŸ˜³. In a way, he’s just like me ;). Check out his Wikipedia page and you’ll be amazed. What a hero!
