This is part two of Day Three, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the 2018 European Athletics Championships. In part of Conversations with Larry, we will disuss the following three events:
1. The Women’s Pole Vault. As the event continues to explode globally, Katerina Stefanidi, Olympic and World Champion, returned to the top of the world with her win and defence of the European Athletics Championships with her CR of 4.85 meters.
2. The Men’s Steeplechase-Meheidine Mekissi-Bennebad took his fourth European Championships title over the steeplechase, using a last lap of 59.8 to cement his win. This is Meheidine’s fifth European Outdoor title.

3. The Women’s 100 meter hurdles-Well, a Belorussian won, but not Alina Talay. Elvira Herman took the 100 meter hurdles in 12.64, and surprised a few of the 35,000 plus fans in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
