Emily Goreka has returned to fitness and the cross country specialist won the British trials for the European Cross Country! Here’s the update from Alfons Juck, on EME News.

BIRMINGHAM (GBR): Trials winners Ben Connor and Emelia Gorecka will lead a full team of 40 athletes in the British team for the European Cross Country Championships in Samorin. Gorecka, a two-time winner of the junior race, is joined by 2014 senior champion Gemma Steel. Jessica Judd and NCAA runner-up Amy-Eloise Neale head the under-23 team and 2015 silver medallist Harriet Knowles-Jones is back for the final time as a junior. Aside from Connor, also returning from the gold medal-winning Chia senior men’s squad are Dewi Griffiths and Andrew Butchart. Olympic 1500m finalist Charlie Grice is included in the relay team.
